“At Sunray we believe achieving gender equity is everyone’s responsibility, and we are committed to that cause, by creating more professional pathways for women”

-Klaus Zimmerman

Sunray through one of its companies, Bisedge Limited, is leading the recruitment of female forklifts operators across the nation and is the only company spare heading this initiative. This initiative has been with the support of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). UNIDO is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability.

As a result, we have also been able to help our key account clients progress their gender equity agenda, which also extends to their suppliers. With the intensity of recruitment required by Bisedge, we would be ensuring there is a balance in our projected 800 FTE hires by the end of 2022. Bisedge is committed to the quality of service it delivers and would continue to train graduates of which many women will benefit from, for its operations.

Gender equity seeks to create an even distribution of opportunities across genders, in a bid to create a healthier and more sustainable societal living and economic success. Women have for along time been overlooked and not considered for certain roles. To further encourage a sustainable work environment, Sunray is committed to the cause of creating gender balance in its businesses by encouraging and recruiting more women to support all its business operations.
